Weekly Update, February 19, 2017

Jump Rope & Hoops for Heart is wrapping up.  It’s not too late to contribute to our school’s efforts to fight the No. 1 killer of Americans:  heart disease.  Visit heart.org/jump (or heart.org/hoops) to join our school team.  We are so proud of our students for taking the challenge and helping others by raising money for the American Heart Association.  Thank you for your support!


We also continue our energy competition for $18,000 for our school and need our families’ support. Please turn in your energy pledge forms as soon as possible.  This is the last week to turn them in to the office.

Mon, Feb 20

No School in honor of Presidents’ Day

 

Wed, Feb 22

*8:15  Prayer at the Pole

*Pickles and popcorn for sale after school

*Girls basketball game at Pueblo Academy of Arts.  JV plays at 4:30, Varsity plays at 5:30.

 

Thurs, Feb 23

*5th grade field trip to Beulah.  Students should dress appropriately for the weather and bring 

 sunscreen.

*City County Championships for Wrestling will be held at Central High School beginning at 3:00 

 p.m.

*Girls basketball game at home against Liberty Point International Middle School JV plays 

 at 4:30 and Varsity plays at 5:30Students need to be picked up at 6:15.

 

Fri, Feb 24

*7:45 Fellowship of Christian Heroes meeting in room 115

*College t-shirt day.  Students may wear a college t-shirt of their choice for $1.00.  Teachers will 

 have wristbands in their classrooms.

*Pickles, popcorn and jerky for sale after school

*2:40 Food pantry pick up.  All Heroes families are invited to participate.

 

For basketball games, students who would like to watch must go home after school and may return at 4:30. Students must have rides here to pick them up promptly at 6:15 for both events. Students can get into the game for $1 with a Heroes shirt. All other students can get in for $2, adults are $4.

 

Please mark your calendars for the following dates:

 

Wed, Mar 1st  6:00-7:30  Title I Arts Night.  We will have an elementary and middle school art show, the 5th grade music concert, a booth honoring our AVID program and for sharing information with any interested students and parents, and refreshments.  Please plan to join us for this fun night!

 

Clearing for Boys and Girls Track will begin March 6th and run through March 17th. Any boy or girl interested in track must come to the office and pick up a clearing packet. Clearing paper work can also be found on our school website under athletics.  Students need to have an update to date physical and have all the parent paperwork completed in order to be cleared to participate. The official season starts Monday, March 27th. Please see or call Ms. Nava if you have questions. 

 

This is a reminder that school rules and consequences apply to school athletic events at all District 60 and 70 locations. If students have disciplinary action taken against them during an athletic event, they will be banned from attending and participating in all athletic events for the remainder of the school year.
